Seal of Biliteracy

The Seal of Biliteracy and the Global Seal of Biliteracy recognize students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. The Global Citizenship Certificate Program (GCCP) is a rigorous educational program to recognize high school students who have demonstrated a dedication to expanding their global perspectives with international experiences. KWLA has compiled a list of resources for the Seal of Biliteracy and the Global Citizenship Certificate below.

Let us know how many students in your district or school have received the Seal of Biliteracy! By tracking the number of Seal of Biliteracy numbers throughout Kentucky we are able to advocate and grow the program. Click here to fill out our annual survey.

KDE Guidelines

The Kentucky Department of Education has released guidelines to help districts and schools establish a Seal of Biliteracy or other programs to recognize high school graduates who attained a high level of proficiency in one or more languages, in addition to English.

Seal of Biliteracy

Seal of Biliteracy promotes bilingual pride! We encourage students to be biliterate, and help schools to promote bilingualism by providing medals and seals.

Global Seal Of Biliteracy

The Global Seal of Biliteracy recognizes the hard work and achievements of those students who do acquire biliteracy, and it fills a huge gap in the national movement for biliteracy by recognizing students in schools of choice, private schools, homeschooling, and districts which have not yet chosen to implement a state Seal of biliteracy

Global Citizenship Certificate Program

Global Citizenship Certificate Program (GCCP) is an interactive educational program that recognizes high school students in Kentucky and Southern Indiana who have demonstrated a dedication to global citizenship.
